What the series is

Ordinary People is an action-thriller drama set in Mirage Estate, an upscale compound where the lawns look finished and the residents do not. Inwang’s line for the project: the ordinary people you call neighbours are not as ordinary as they seem.

The series was filmed across Lagos, Bayelsa, and Berlin. Inwang has said the idea sat with him for years and that production took about three years. He has also called it one of the most star-heavy Nigerian series ever assembled.

Episode one opens years earlier with an attack on a Niger Delta crime figure known as Tornado. From there the estate fills up with overlapping secrets: undercover work, a violent marriage, a Ghanaian couple with something to hide, a Nollywood star in crisis, a comedian whose public face does not match his home, a chairman with dirty side deals, and a neighbour who cannot stop looking into other people’s lives.

That density is the hook. It is also the complaint.
